Experiencing the natural world through Outdoor Play

Year 2 had a wonderful time exploring the natural world during outdoor play, using magnifying glasses to discover insects and other tiny creatures in our outdoor play area and observe them closely in bug jars. Through carefully searching, observing, and talking about what they found, the children developed their curiosity, teamwork, and respect for living things. Learning outdoors helps to build important scientific skills such as observing closely, asking questions, and noticing patterns, while also supporting physical development and wellbeing. Experiences like these encourage children to become confident, curious learners who appreciate and care for the world around them.
